Prayer Times in Masjed Soleyman

Masjed Soleyman is one of the historic cities of Islamic Iran, where the call to prayer has risen from mosques, husseiniyas and central squares for centuries. In Iranian culture, the five daily prayers are more than a religious obligation — they set a calming daily rhythm that links family, neighbourhood and workplace, intensifying around the suhoor and iftar of Ramadan, the Nights of Power, the festivals of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and the mourning days of Muharram and Safar.

Prayer times for Masjed Soleyman on this page are calculated with the method of the Institute of Geophysics at the University of Tehran, combining a 17.7° angle for Fajr and 14° for Isha with elevation corrections and the instantaneous solar position. This method is the de facto standard on Iranian national radio and television and in the official calendar. From inside the Emrooz app you can switch to Ja'fari, ISNA, MWL or Umm al-Qura conventions if you follow a different jurisprudence.

Beyond the daily five, the Iranian calendar weaves prayer times into countless seasonal moments. The dawn azaan on national radio still marks the start of suhoor across the country during Ramadan; Friday's Jumu'ah prayer brings communities together in neighbourhood mosques and grand jami' masjids alike; on the Nights of Power many spend the hours past midnight in worship, and during the first ten days of Muharram, mourning processions reset the city's rhythm around Maghrib and Isha. Knowing these timings to the minute — wherever you happen to be in Masjed Soleyman — is part of how the city's everyday life stays connected to its faith.
