About our city weather data
This page explains what the weather directory covers, where its data comes from, and the safeguards used before a city page can be indexed.
City coverage
The first catalogue uses the GeoNames cities5000 dataset for the seven supported countries, including populated places above its threshold and qualifying administrative capitals. Coverage is a practical directory definition, not a claim to reproduce every country's legal municipality register.
Weather data and freshness
City pages use shared server-side Apple Weather snapshots. Visits and searches never trigger a provider request. Each page shows the actual time of its latest successful weather update and clearly marks delayed data.
Place names and languages
We store localized names and aliases separately from stable page addresses. A fallback name can help someone find a city, but the page remains excluded from search indexing until its name and page copy pass review for that language.
Population figures
Population values are reference figures from the place dataset unless a verified official source and year are stated. They may differ from the latest census and are not presented as live population counts.
